We are half-way through the May Challenge! It was so nice to see and spend time with family in Seattle over the weekend! I was impressed by the changes and commitment of everyone. In terms of my challenge, so far it has been both more difficult and easier than I expected. I have found that I easily have time to exercise 20 minutes a day and it does feel so good to sweat! However, it is hard to get out the door to workout at 9 PM at night when I would rather be lying on the couch and reading or watching television. It really goes back to my initial comments, I don't have the perfect circumstances to work out (I would rather go for an hour run in the morning about 30 minutes after I drink a cup of coffee) but I do have time and desire and can't use the circumstances as an excuse to keep me from something that I love to do.
Being half way through the challenge, it is also time to reflect. Is your May goal something that you plan to continue? Will you make changes to it to make it more sustainable? What do you think that you will tackle in the month of June?
I look forward to hearing from you!
There have been two days so far that I forgot (or didn't make time for) my push ups.. But otherwise I've done them. Turns out I don't enjoy doing them... I thought they would eventually get easier but they haven't. Now it is 9:30 PM at the end of a very long day and I don't feel like doing them.. But will. I think in future months I will commit more generically to "activity" instead of to the push ups.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun seeing you guys too! See you next month in SD!
I have had salmon each week and the leftovers for 2 lunches so am enjoying the fish. Can't wait til the Copper River Salmon arrives! I plan to have halibut tonight.
ReplyDeleteWe enjoyed your visit here too - I think Evie had lots of cousin fun.
I have not decided what my June challenge will be.
My push ups challenge has not been perfect. I got sick and my wrist was bothering me for a few days, and I missed two days of it. I usually end up doing them before bed, which is fine. I don't feel like doing them during the days when I watch Evie, so I end up doing the push-ups, having a snack (code for dessert) and then going to bed.
ReplyDeleteFor next month I think I will stay with push-ups, but add in some other exercises, probably core and some other body-weight exercises. I'm hoping for it to become more of a workout and less of an exercise. If I am able to get in a workout, (bike or run,) the push-ups will be adequate.
We enjoyed the first Copper River salmon on Friday night - it was very tasty. Hope to have more this week.
ReplyDeleteFor June I plan to log my food and activity every day on Lose It since I got off track the last couple of weeks.
